Title: Improved quantification of the alpha spectral peak

Background: Characterizing alpha is difficult whenever it is small, or split into several components at different frequencies. Accurate quantification of alpha is a prerequistite to a more fundamental understanding of its anatomical and functional foundations.
Aims: This project aims to improve the quantification of alpha, both with respect to accuracy and robustness of the numerical method. A specific goal is to characterize clearly cases of split peaks.
Method: We will use standard spectra from all available sites, combined with a standard curve-fitting algorithm. Then an algorithm will be developed that robustly derives initializations, and compactly describes the frequency and spatial distributions.
